Biography

Tahj is a singer-songwriter from Inglewood, CA who uses storytelling and lush vocal harmonies to express the range of human emotion in his music. Drawing heavily from neo-soul greats like Soulchild and Badu, early hip-hop influences from Lauryn Hill to Slum Village, and new-age soul artists like Sir and Syd (The Internet), tahj hopes to challenge the conventions of traditional R&B by infusing grooves and rhythms found across the diaspora of Black American music. With his single "End of Forever" in Hulu's hit series Reasonable Doubt and recent invitation as an Artist in Residence for CultureHub Los Angeles, tahj hopes to continue expanding his reach as a songwriter and artist -- building a robust sync catalogue while collaborating with other artists to push familiar genres in new sonic directions.
